Stop the Presses!

Well, not really, because we NEED them to write about us. Two more folks with fabulous taste have fallen in love.

Check out our great write ups in Retro-Luxe and The Austin Chronicle.

I guess we're part of the cool crowd now.

Can I just call you sexy?

Classic 50's meets modern plexi.

"My my, that frame makes your butt look amazing!"

When your house has all the color, this clear address plaque is the one for you.

Choo Choo

Living next to a train gives us the feeling that we live in the country. I know it's corny, but there's something about the white noise that is soothing. The trains aren't allowed to sound off the horns, but on Christmas Day they've been known to jam some Jingle Bells.

There's another thing that gets the whole family in a tizzy about the trains.

Even the girls.

Kiddy Art

We know the frames are abstract and difficult to imagine. The possibilities are endless, so we thought we'd show y'all a few more ideas.

One of our clients came up with the bright idea to frame her daughters Basquiat inspired art. This urban art is exactly what fits our industrial edge.

The back piece of plexi is actually a light blue color, but once you put it against the green wall, it just pops into that vibrant blue. Something we never thought of. The art also looks crooked, but let me assure you the paper was cut crooked. It's not an actual Basquiat. The fishing line is not cut yet. You gotta let it hang for a week and let the line stretch before you cut down to size. Patience people.

Speaking of patience, check out her home remodel. I think it was two months over due, but well worth the wait.

Her great idea inspired me. My daughter made an abstract I loved for it's vibrancy and Wendy and I wanted to do something special.

I think we did.

Essentially, it's a mounted on top of a cut piece of a shower stall. Hence the potty shot, but it works, no?

Beware of Barbies!!!

What's the hot new trend in burglar alarms for 2010? Why naked barbies of course! Burglars beware. These barbies will kick your ass.

The genius behind this fabulous new use of Barbie is none other than the glitter diva Sue Zola. After her house was broken into, she decided to take action. Barbie girl action. Lining her front porch with a hot crew of naked barbies. Rumored to also keep away Jehovah's witnesses.

And you simply must check out Sue's art. You don't know glitter art until you've seen Sue's crazy fabulous work. I heart my piece of glitter art like crazy!

1950's Icon

I was walking in Garden Ridge Pottery this weekend and saw a package of these.

Which made me smile for so many reasons. I have a lot of memories with these birds, but my favorite one is with Wendy.

She had bought her first house. A fabulous 1950's ranch style house with the original refrigerator. I was years away from buying a house and so jealous. Of course Wendy funked it up so much more with some paint and numerous pieces of mid-century furniture, including a few bars (This was pre-kids day when we had extra money along with spare time to paint and drink).

I bought her a set of these birds for her housewarming present. She was ecstatic. I remember her hubby mumbling something about how they could only be put up in the back yard.
