Reinventing the Planter

There's always some type of project going on at my house. Fixing up, redoing, painting, gluing ... I'm sure you can relate. All too often though things don't quite end up how I envisioned or I get distracted and never finish. This time, however, my project turned out exactly like I was hoping, & I freakin' love it! I got this urn looking planter from my mom.
Boring. Enter in a can of spray paint & bam, a badass is born.
I usually mess up when I spray paint because I glob it on and it inevitably drips. This time, I was patient and ended up with a great look. I love it. So big, and perfect. I want more in different colors and shapes.
I had this unruly succulent with no home - may my new planter tame it!

Wimberly, TX

Our esthetic isn't country, despite being in Texas.  I was super shocked to find art I liked in Wimberly.

I found this awesome mask from Chris London.
I was even more excited to learn that Chris is a woman.

Then I bought this rock.

Made by Mother Nature, one of my favorite ladies.

Better Late Than Never

We're finally on Pinterest. Let's follow each other .... and waste lots of time together looking at awesome things we may never be able to afford or do ... but love from a distance.

Back In Black

We may have let SXSW get the best of us and fall a bit behind (it's inevitable when you live in Austin, seriously), but we're back on schedule with a fresh batch of all black plaques ready to ship.
Now we gotta get busy on our collage art. Lots to do before WEST happens in April. We have some great new pieces brewing ....

Tattoos & Graffiti

Saw lots of tattoos and graffiti over spring break. A trip to New Mexico unearthed tons of graffiti. So many inspiring pieces from walls to trains to curbs. SXSW (here in Austin) was an endless parade of tattoos. Many incredible ones and many more that were no doubt alcohol induced. My most favorite of favorite thing I saw was this side of a building/shed/garage in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Had to take quick pics because I thought their big rowdy dogs were gonna eat me, at least that's what it sounded like.

Push it Good

We get all types of custom requests. While we totally want them all to work out and love all the outside of the box challanges, sometimes people are just too wild and crazy with their ideas and we just can't make them happen. However -- this client was persistent in their ideas and we're glad we could make it happen because it turned out awesome, and all kinds of new mid century modern perfection. We owe a big thanks to them for pushing us to make this atomic ranch plaque. Oval --- why yes we can.
