Art Shows People, We Have Art Shows

We are so hyped about all of our art shows coming up - because it means we get to make new art!!! 

And we've gone way bigger this time around. 

"Aloha," our biggest, boldest aquarium yet.

And "Barbarella High," she's massive and straight throwback. It's in the details.

"1967," endless cutting, but worth it.

"Atomic Party." What else is there to say. She's got a rainbow butt ...

These pieces are currently showing at Magnolia Cafe on South Congress.
October: we will be part of the Handmade Austin Women show on the 19th/20th as well as art displayed at the new Georgetown Art Center.
Then November, it's EAST time.
We haven't had this many shows lined up, ever.

Expose Yourself

One day my husband said, "I have a surprise trip planned for us." Initially, panic set in because while I love my husband, we are very different souls. So, I packed for the kids and I ... and we were off ... on a train ... to Ft. Worth. I guess I'm excited right? Turns out ---- hellz yes I'm excited. What a killer trip. I mean, who knew?! We roll into Ft. Worth on the train, get our car and immediately hit Spiral Diner, delish vegan food. Once we refueled --- off to the museums. Ft. Worth has some ridiculous art museums. 3 museums later and my gawd I was blown away! Here's just a few of the museum highlights ...

Leonard Baskin. Native American Portraits. Blown away. Overwhelmed. Holy amazement. Completely uneducated about him as an artist. When I rounded the corner in the museum and saw these crazy massive unbelievable lithographs by Baskin -- all but straight to emotional tears, because they were that powerfully profound. Perfect.

The other artist exhibit that completely devoured me was Romare Bearden. A few months back I watched a documentary about him - then to stumble upon an exhibit of his art - ridiculously stoked. I mean speechless, I MEAN, witnessing some seriously unbelievable and remarkable art - that documented the process too. Yeah ... there may have been tears. So check him out. The detail. The life experience. The continuation of theme and experience.

And then there lies personal experience. The Modern Art Museum of Ft. Worth truly made my kids feel a part of the scene which translated to a great experience for me. My kids were free to run and draw amongst all the bigs of modern art. They weren't intimidated to be quiet, subdued, and or otherwise (all the things kids hate). There was a sensation within my kids of free spirit and interaction with the art. Needless to say, it was experienced to the fullest and happiest.

Um yeah - that is my child on the floor drawing her interpretation of art, surrounded by the likes of Warhol and Rauschenberg. 

So perfect .... 

*of course if you ask my kids, they will tell you the hotel pool was way more exciting

We Like 'Em Fat

The bigger the better when it comes to vertical house numbers.

Add a few inches to the width and, well, it gets all hot and sexy. Obviously ....

You Want More Than One?

Our DIY factory can make one or a hundred.

Address plaques for homes or apartments or condominiums. We got that.
