Christmas in July....Um June

It's been a wonderfully busy time. We kinda feel like Santa's elves around here ... busy building address plaques.

Even though our latest round of plaques have a very Halloween-look to them.
Whatever the season, we're happy to make it merry and bright with loads of plaques!

New Collage Art Pieces

Nothing like seeing commission pieces come to fruition! Last month at an art show opening we had a friend purchased "Crisco #3" with the idea of creating 2 more pieces to go with it. After some thinking, figuring, cutting, creating, recreating, and then more cutting .... 2 pieces of art were created. First up, "Great Catch."
How hot is that car/boat, not to mention their catch of the day!? Next up is "Desert Swim Party." You know in the desert, everybody gets a little crazy.
The trio all comes together in an if-you know-Sam these pieces make perfect sense kinda way. Thanks for letting us get all creative and crazy.

Lovin' Johnny Tragedy

Discovered a new artist, and he is all kinds of amazing. Johnny Tragedy! Sensory overload. As soon as I got one piece, I wanted another. His combination of screen print, acrylic, and spray paint culminate in crazy layering upon layering with an end result of perpetual discovering. It's dark, it's funny, it's crazy ... his pieces cover the gamut. Check it out:

This is the piece I bought, "Los Banditos." Here it is, hanging right next to my DUAL and Ed Saavedra pieces. Can't wait to own another.

When You're Wrong, You're Wrong

When people order address plaques, we are always happy to make them however they want. After all, the end all product is going on their house, not ours. Recently, we got an order that made us raise an eyebrow - like that's gonna look kooky and weird and just not right. First, the client requested an opaque red plexiglas - we all but exclusively use transparent colors. Ok, not the end of the world I know. But then, he wanted it aligned to the right ... and pushed to the top of the plaque. Say what!?!? No way this is gonna work out.
Measured, drilled, assembled ... Holy cow that's hot. Mounted on the house ... Amazing no doubt! This client clearly new what he was talking about. We love it!

Mama Gets a Mailbox

MY NEW MAILBOX! I am so excited because it is so super deluxe awesome and fabulous. We started out with your traditional, very weather worn, basic, mailbox. And then my father-in-law came in and made me an unbelievably rad new one. The mac-daddy of fabulousness, right?! I love it so! May it bring me many a snail mail letter of happiness, lottery winnings, and good tidings from afar.
