Broke-down Cool in Florida

On a trip to Fort Lauderdale, I found my perfect style. We stayed in a part of the beach strip that was kinda falling apart, but so cool. It had the original signage. And this was how it looked at night.A lot of the buildings were empty, but so cool. What a project.

Movin' on up ...

well, not exactly to the Eastside, but we're movin' on up! Landed a great project to fabricate address plaques for a condo. And did you check out the house numbers ... hubba hubba. Our client chose to use custom numbers, and we love them! Thick, clean-lined and gloriously modern.

Little House with the Kitties

There's some really big things coming up for us. Not only are we doing the E.A.S.T. Austin Studio Tour, but we also got accepted into the Blue Genie Art Bazaar (!!). And we have even more stuff happening in the Spring.

Good thing our friends keep us practicing. The latest gift of choice is art. My friend is having a baby and wanted a piece for her little girl that was a vintage kitty. And this is what she got.

This could've gone a lot of ways, but Wendy found this super cool book loaded with some of the most awkwardly wrong, but oh so awesome images of kitties gone all dressed-up and fashionista.And this is what came out of it, with a little help from some 1980's wall paper.Don't worry, there's more of these to come. Did we mention we also have a book with dogs too??

Out of Africa

My hubby gets to travel to all types of places. He's gotten really good at picking out gifts for me. (Bribe of sorts, but I'll take it.) He brought me back this piece from South Africa.
I think what gets me is how simple it is. With these pops of color.
Only on the ladies.
Unlike any other art I have, yet it fits right in.

I am not ashamed to say that I have seen every Dallas episode. For that matter, I've seen every Knots Landing episode as well. Yup. I relived every glorious minute of all that fashion, hair, drinking, backstabbing, and womanizing/manizing in the early 2000's. And it was fabulous. When my first born was a baby, she loved the theme song to Dallas (clearly a sign of good parenting). She probably thought her name was Sue Ellen, or pour me a drink. All that makes my latest art score freaking amazing!
First came the J.R. piece, "I bet you will love me now Pam," from artist Adreon Henry. He is hands down, one of my most favorite Austin artist. Innovative techniques and concepts. Then, I discovered my "Sue Ellen" piece via one of my husband's old school skate buddies, Panhandle Slim. His friend, Zteven, created this rad Andy Warhol inspired Sue Ellen piece. "Joan of Arc would have been a drunk if she was married to you!" Gawd how I love Sue Ellen. Rich trashy boozed out money. My kinda look.

When I saw these chairs at Room Service, it was instant love. I'd been looking for awhile and these were the right price and in mint condition. Original fabric. Fit perfect.Then, the family fell in love with this guy.
And he loved the chairs too.
A little too much.

The Colors of our Rainbow

Such amazing and vibrant colors. We get excited every time we unveil a piece.
Our most favorite of all ... the deep and beyond rad color of green. That green is the shiznet.
This is where the magic happens. Not as exciting as the bedrooms of famous rappers on MTV Cribs, but we like it and lets face it, she drills with perfection. Even plexiglas leftovers look amazing. Why isn't your house wearing one of our plaques? Seriously ...
